Lessons on the Journey

Welcome to Survival School! I started this page because I felt that I had something to share. For a good portion of my life, I’ve lived in America  going to school, working, existing. Even when I graduated high school, I started out at an American college, majoring in International Studies; but it wasn’t until I went to study abroad in Japan that I felt the reality of worlds unlike my own (not talking sci-fi here, just cultures). This led to an awakening of sorts  forcing me to truly look at the various cultures around me, as well as my own. And through my experiences, I’ve learned a great deal listening to the perspectives and lifestyles of others.

If there is one thing I have learned in life, it is that you never truly stop learning. Which is great because with the way the world is today you can’t survive without wisdom. Everywhere you go and with everyone you encounter, there is a lesson waiting to be taught. As such, being a graduate and teacher (living in Japan yet again), I am convinced of this premise even more. So I thought I’d play my part, and write down some “Lessons on the Journey.” Pay attention, school is now in session.
